^27Improving Oral English^27 by Dr. Holland

Dr. Philip Holland, Chairman of the Anatolia College English Department, gave a talk on "Improving Oral English" to an audience of English teachers from Thessaloniki public schools on January 29 at the city's 3rd Lyceum. Holland spoke on the ways in which students can be led to use English more frequently and productively in Greek schools. He cited classroom techniques employed by Anatolia teachers, including activities imported into class from Anatolia's popular extracurricular programs in public speaking. He also showed a ten-minute video on better pronunciation for Greek learners of English that he recently posted on YouTube. The event was organized by Dr. Angeliki Deligianni, Thessaloniki School Adviser for English, who also introduced Dr. Linda Blanton, Anatolia Institutional Director of English Programs.
